2014 Nissan Versa Note begins at $13,990
Nissan has added a new member to its lineup with the launch of a new sub-compact model that goes by the name of Versa Note. Set to tackle other models such as the Chevrolet Sonic and the Ford Fiesta, the 2014 Versa Note has been unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show and will arrive in Nissan’s dealerships this summer at a starting price of $13,990, without taking into account the destination & handling charges.
In comparison to the sedan version which is $2,000 cheaper, the hatchback adopts a more distinct look but it’s still not what you’d call an attractive car.
Under the hood it will get only a 1.6-liter engine pumping out 109 hp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 107 lb-ft reached at 4,400 rpm. This engine can be connected to either a five-speed manual gearbox (available only for the entry-level model) or a new Xtronic CVT. With the latter, Nissan says the 2014 Versa Note can return 31 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway and 35 mpg in the combined cycle.
Customers will be able to order the car in one of the four trim levels available: S, S Plus, SV and SL. Some of the tech available for the hatchback includes the NissanConnectSM with navigation system and a 5.8-inch touchscreen color display, as well as the firm’s Around View Monitor which boasts superwide-angle small cameras mounted on all sides of the car.
