2014 Opel Meriva facelift unveiled at Brussels Motor Show

German marque Opel is showcasing a mild facelift for the Meriva these days at the Brussels Motor Show. The MPV features a slightly redesigned front grille, more chrome trim and updated headlights which can now be had with optional LED daytime running lights. On the inside there’s a new generation of the firm’s IntelliLink infotainment system encompassing a 7-inch display along with a new interface and what should be a speedier operation. It should be noted the infotainment system offers support for USB, CDs, Bluetooth audio streaming and phone connectivity.

Opel is now offering a 1.6-liter CDTI engine which serves as a replacement for the 1.3- and 1.7-liter power units. The new mill outputs 136 HP and 320 Nm of torque which allows the vehicle to have a fuel consumption of 4.4 liters / 100 km and 116 g/km of CO2 emissions. Later on, the engine will also be offered with 110 HP which will enable the Meriva to consume just 3.8 liters / 100 km and 99 g/km of CO2 emissions.


The new engine will be mated to improved “low-friction” gearboxes which according to Opel will deliver more precise gear changes and an overall smoother operation.
