2014 Peugeot 108 shows up in Geneva
Peugeot has introduced a more premium second generation 108 last week at the 84th edition of the Geneva Motor Show. Looking considerably more upscale than its predecessor, the overhauled 108 will be sold in three- and five-door body styles, as well as with a retractable fabric roof in the 108 TOP! variant where the roof is 76 cm long and 80 cm wide. Speaking of dimensions, the cute supermini is 3.47 meters long and 1.62 meters wide while the aforementioned open-top variant is configured as standard with an automatically-deployable aero-acoustic deflector.
The lightest version of the new Peugeot 108 tips the scales at just 840 kg and engine choices will include a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder e-VTi with 68 bhp as well as a 1.2-liter PureTech VTi outputting 82 bhp. These engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission sending output to the front axle.
For the interior cabin Peugeot has prepared a generous seven-inch touchscreen display on the upper-spec versions which also have automatic air conditioning. Other goodies include six airbags, electric power steering, a height-adjustable driver’s seat along with safety system such as ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, switchable ESP and Emergency Collision Braking System.
