With the occasion of launching the 911 GT3 in the United States, Porsche has announced its price tag which begins from $130,400, without taking into consideration the $950 destination charge. It is slated to go on sale before the end of this year and promises to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under 7 minutes and 30 seconds. It benefits from Porsche’s active rear wheel steering system which is capable of steering the rear wheels in the same or opposite direction of the front wheels for a more agile handling on track. The vehicle rides on 20-inch forged alloy wheels featuring a central locking hub and has also been equipped with a dual exhaust system mounted in the center.
The heart and soul of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 is a 3.8-liter, six-cylinder engine unleashing 475 HP (349 kW) and 324 lb-ft (438 Nm) of torque. The entire horsepower is transferred to the rear axle with the help of a locking differential and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It helps the vehicle sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 195 mph (315 km/h).
