2014 Porsche Cayman GTS breaks cover

Porsche has unveiled today a more powerful version of the Cayman called GTS which from now on will act as the most expensive and powerful model of the range. Its heart and soul is the familiar boxer flat-six 3.4-liter engine but output has been increased from 330 HP in the Cayman S to 340 HP while torque now stands at 370 Nm as opposed to the previous 360 Nm. Thanks to these changes, the Porsche Cayman GTS equipped with the optional PDK will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds while with the manual six-speed transmission it tops out at 177 mph (285 km/h).

The 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS is fitted as standard equipment with the PASM – Porsche Active Suspension Management as well as with the Sport Chrono package while the 20-inch rims are taken from the more expensive 911 Carrera S. Porsche visually tweaked the model by installing different bumpers and they also applied a black treatment on the bi-xenon headlights. For the interior they have prepared sports seats, an Alcantara trim and leather upholstery.

Sales of the model are slated to begin in May from a starting price of 73,575 euros in Germany and from 55,397 pounds in UK.
