2014 Porsche Panamera unveiled
Porsche has revised its Panamera lineup for the 2014 model year and they will be offering a new Executive variant which basically is a long-wheel base version as it has a 15 cm elongated wheelbase featuring two bucket seats in the back. The most significant news has to do with the launch of the E-Hybrid model that features a new V6 3.0-liter engine with 316 hp (235 kW), an electric motor generating 94 hp (70 kW) and a lithium-ion battery pack. It provides an impressive combined output of 410 hp (306 kW) and can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.5 seconds, en route to a top speed of 167 mph (269 km/h).
This greener variant is 56 percent more fuel efficient as it consumes just 3.1 liters / 100 km (91.1 mpg UK or 75.8 mpg US) while CO2 emissions stand at a mere 71 g/km. It can travel just on electric power between 11 and 22 miles and during this time it can hit a top speed of 83 mph (133 km/h).
Porsche has equipped the Panamera 4 and Panamera 4S with a new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine rated at 413 hp (308 kW), making it 19 hp (14 kW) more powerful than the old 4.8-liter V8 mill. The torque has also increased by 14 lb-ft (19 Nm) to a total of 385 lb-ft (521 Nm). This engine change has also made the two models 18 percent more frugal compared to the ones powered by the V8 engine.
