The 2015 Kia Soul EV is now available on order in United States where it carries a starting price of $33,700, without taking into account the destination and handling fees as well as $7,500 government rebate. As standard it gets a wide array of equipment such as a rear view camera, GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, power windows & locks and cruise control. It also comes with a UVO infotainment system featuring EV services offering useful information such as battery level, searching for near charging stations and also estimating the distance to empty.
Those willing to pay $35,700 can upgrade to the Soul EV Plus that adds projection-style fog lamps, power folding mirrors as well as heated and ventilated leather-wrapped seats. Both variants come with an electric motor producing 109 bhp and 210 lb-ft of torque which works together with a 27 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery.
The 2015 Kia Soul EV can sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in less than 12 seconds and has an electronically-capped top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h). It can do up to 93 miles (145 km) before running out of juice and has an MPGe rating of 120 in the city, 92 on the highway and 105 in the combined cycle.
