2015 Volkswagen Beetle introduced with new engines and extra tech
Volkswagen is introducing the 2015 Beetle & Beetle Convertible with five new engines which all meet Euro 6 emissions standards and are more fuel efficient than their predecessors. Without going too much into details, the German marque said there are three gasoline motors with outputs of 105 HP (77 kW), 150 HP (110 kW) and 220 HP (162 kW) while on the diesel side there’s a 110 HP (81 kW) variant and a 150 HP (110 kW) motor.
Aside from the overhauled engine lineup, the 2015 Volkswagen Beetle range has also gained an optional Discover Media navigation system, Blind Spot monitor, Rear Traffic Alert system and a rearview camera. More importantly, there’s now a DSG transmission featuring a coasting function which shifts automatically into neutral whenever there isn’t a need for acceleration. Volkswagen is also adding three interior cabin color packages called Pure White, Tornado Red and Reflex Silver.
Sales of the models will commence later this year and at home in Germany the prices kick off at €17,825 for the Beetle and from €22,125 for the Beetle Cabriolet.
