The 2016 Audi TT RS has been speculatively rendered prior to its market launch scheduled within the next 12 months. Needless to say, it will sit on top of the lineup for the third generation TT Coupe and will bring numerous improvements over the existing TT S. The design won’t be that much different, but expect to find beefier front and rear bumpers, enlarged air vents at the front, a rear wing in the back, along with upsized wheels and bigger brakes. Moreover, the interior cabin is set to receive a pair of body-hugging front seats along with some other RS-specific tweaks to denote it’s the range-topper edition of the stylish coupe.
Without any doubt, the most important change will be under the hood where the 2016 Audi TT RS will receive a larger five-cylinder 2.5-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine pushing out more than 400 PS sent to the standard permanent all-wheel drive quattro system with help from a dual clutch gearbox while a six-speed manual won’t be on offer. This hardware arrangement will enable the high performance coupe run the 0-100 km/h sprint in around 4 seconds before topping out at an electronically-governed 250 km/h.
Expect the TT RS show up at the Geneva Motor Show in March with a starting price in excess of €60,000.
