The 2016 Lexus RX 200t has officially been revealed this week in China at the Auto Shanghai 2015 show. It represents the third model of the fourth-gen RX and comes with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which will be available globally. The inline-4 motor has a low-inertia turbocharger and benefits from intelligent variable valve timing along with an air-to-liquid intercooler. Lexus has not released details about the final output figure of the engine but they do say it will develop more than 228 bhp (170 kW).
Power will be transferred to the wheels with help from a six-speed automatic transmission that has been optimized in order to offer “strong acceleration from standstill and at overtaking speeds.” If this engine inside the 2016 Lexus RX 200t is not enough for your needs, the crossover will also be offered with a beefier V6 3.5-liter motor in the RX 350 version along with a hybridized V6 3.5-liter powering the RX 450h.
