2016 Nissan Maxima arrives in New York with 300 bhp
The all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima has made its debut at the New York Auto Show and is set to go on sale this summer. The production model was previewed by the Sport Sedan concept and as you can see it adopts a rather bold design with a splashy V-motion front and LED-infused headlights. Also noticeable are the blacked-out pillars and a very attractive floating roof which makes the car appear stylish and sleek. It sits on 18-inch rims and has received a dual exhaust arrangement while weight has gone down compared to its predecessor by up to 37.1 kg (82 lbs).
As far as the interior is concerned, the 2016 Nissan Maxima gets heated & cooled front seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Ascot leather upholstery with diamond-quilted inserts and an infotainment system along with a seven inch Advanced Drive Assist Display mounted in the instrument cluster. It also benefits from a Bose audio system while the center stack has been angled seven degrees towards the driver.
The 2016 Nissan Maxima is powered by a V6 3.5-liter engine developing 300 bhp (223 kW) and a maximum torque of 353 Nm (261 lb-ft) channeled to the wheels through a newly developed Xtronic gearbox which will allow the model to return 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
Pricing will kick off at $32,410, without taking into consideration the destination and handling fee which jacks up the price by $825.
