2016 Toyota Prius c launched in United States
The 2016 Toyota Prius c has arrived in United States with a series of minor tweaks. Now it can be ordered with an optional Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS-C) package that brings together a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Assist and Automatic High Beams. There’s also a newly added Persona Series model that comes with a black exterior paint scheme combined with Electric Lime or Cherry Pearl accents. This version can also be visually distinguished by its 15-inch alloys that have a black look while the Persona Series badging is also exclusive to this model. The car also has a cruise control system, two-tone fabric seats and a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat.
The 2016 Toyota Prius c and this newly added special edition come with a four-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline naturally aspirated engine which works together with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 99 bhp (73 kW). This hardware setup grants the model with a fuel economy of 53 mpg in the city according to EPA’s estimations.
Toyota mentions the Persona Series will be available on order starting December and they plan on making just 1,500 cars. All cars are getting the Toyota Care complimentary plan that covers the regular factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour road assistance for the first two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.
