The current Mazda MX-5 is approaching the end of its lifespan but it seems the adorable roadster still has a lot to offer. Take for example BBR’s version of the MK3.5 (NC) 2.0-liter Sport Tech Roadster Coupe model which has the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine but this has significantly been dialed up to a whopping 268 bhp available at 7,350 rpm and a maximum torque of 307 Nm reached from 3,000 rpm. They managed to get those impressive output figures by recalibrating the engine’s ECU, installing an uprated Garrett turbocharger and by mounting a high-flow intercooler. The car also has a new downpipe, clutch and a lighter battery tray.
Tipping the scales at 1,190 kg, B&B’s MX-5 will need 4.9 seconds to get from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) and it will keep on accelerating until the electronic limiter will kick in at 150 mph (241 km/h).
The car will be available in just 100 examples and you can order one right away either at Mazda UK dealer MKG3000 or directly from BBR. The car will set you back a cool 29,995 pounds.
