ATS 300 Leggera unleashed
ATS was brought back to life in 2012 and now they have announced a brand new model which will be sold under the “300 Leggera” designation. This vehicle follows the company’s first two cars since the revival, called the Sport 1000 and the 2500 GT. The car in question was developed to pay its respect to the Italian small-sized sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s. If you were wondering about the inclusion of “300” in its name, it has to do with the car’s power-to-weight ratio. The 300 Leggera doesn’t come with EBD, traction control or any other electronic aids.
Its heart and soul is a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine capable of developing 200 bhp (149 kW). The vehicle tips the scales at only 1,433 lbs (650 kg) and will be built according to the client’s preferences. ATS says it has a base price of 30,000 euros and the first deliveries are programmed for 2014 in Europe and American markets.
