Chevrolet Tahoe PPV introduced
Chevrolet is showcasing the 2015 Tahoe police patrol version (PPV) in Las Vegas this week at the SEMA show. The car is compatible with both two- and four-wheel drive versions and will be powered exclusively by a 5.3-liter V8 EcoTec3 engine outputting 355 bhp and 519 Nm. The power will be put to the ground through a 6-speed automatic transmission that was returned to better suit the police service. Stopping power is provided by the heavy-duty disc brakes that feature ABS and were retuned for police driving.
The Tahoe PPV has received various suspension upgrades, 17-inch steel wheels, a stiffer body and Goodyear RSA V-rated tires measuring P265/60R17 on all four corners. Other than that, Chevrolet equipped their police patrol car with a different electrical system which allows for an easier installation of police equipment. Lastly, the car has a 730-CCA auxiliary battery and a StabiliTrak electronic stability control system.
