The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6 generation) was transformed into a high-performance hybrid by Quanta. It comes with the same LS7 engine pumping out 505 bhp but it now works in conjunction with two axial flux electric motors that have been incorporated into the rear differential. These two electric motors generate 134 bhp each and receive their power from an 11.3 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. The battery pack can be externally recharged or internally during driving. The car now boasts a whopping combined power output of 770 bhp and 1,500 lb-ft of torque.
The owner and chief engineer of this Quanta Corvette QHP770 is Gary Whiting who is estimating the vehicle needs just 3.3 seconds until 60 mph (96 km/h) and just 11.3 seconds to complete the quarter mile.
The kit could enter production if Quanta receive enough demand for it.
