BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe launched
BMW has introduced a Gran Coupe version of the 4-Series which closely resembles the regular 3-Series Sedan but with a slightly sleeker roofline and a hatchback rear end. The cargo capacity stands at 480 liters which is 30 liters more than the 4-Series Coupe can hold and if the rear seats are folded you get 1,300 liters of cargo to hold. Compared to the two-door coupe, the Gran Coupe variant has a 112mm longer and 12mm higher roof but the length, width and wheelbase have remained untouched. The vehicle will be shown next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
Engine offerings will include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder in the 428i with 240 bhp and 255 lb-ft, along with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder rated at 300 bhp and 300 lb-ft. There’s also a 420i version with a turbo 2.0-liter four-banger outputting 181 bhp, while a 2.0-liter turbodiesel can be had with either 141 bhp or 181 bhp. Availability of these engines depends on the market and in the United States there will only be an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
