Those of you who are not satisfied with the standard power provided by the Volkswagen Golf R will be happy to know ABT Sportsline have prepared an upgrade kit for the range-topping Golf. The 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine has been fitted with what the tuner describes as being a “specially developed control unit” which has lifted the output of the engine by 70 HP and 80 Nm to no less than 370 HP and a maximum torque of 460 Nm. As a result, the hot hatchback can do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.5 seconds before topping out at 164 mph (265 km/h).
As far as the styling is concerned, the Golf R features a front lip spoiler, headlight covers and an updated front grille. Other than that, the vehicle comes with extended side skirts, ER-C alloy wheels that have a dark finish, along with a sporty diffuser and a rear wing.
