Mercedes is preparing a new sportscar that goes by the name of AMG GT and will fill in the emptiness left by the SLS AMG which will be axed in the following months. It won’t be a direct replacement since the AMG GT will be significantly lighter and smaller than the SLS and will most likely be pitted against the Porsche 911 Turbo. They haven’t released any details about the car but we do notice that it will have a lovely interior with a premium two tone red and black leather upholstery while the dashboard has a similar theme.
Under the hood is a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that should churn about 520 bhp in the standard model. Rumors are already suggesting a lesser variant with about 480 bhp along with the crown jewel, a Black Series derivative offering an impressive 580 bhp.
The Mercedes AMG GT will be fully revealed this fall.
