Volvo XC90 R-Design unveiled
Volvo has released images with the R-Design version of the second generation XC90. It comes with a slightly sportier exterior appearance highlighted by the more aggressive body with beefier wheel arches housing updated alloy wheels. It also comes with matte silver mirrors, silver roof rails, updated front and rear bumpers while on the inside there are new sport seats and a steering wheel wrapped around in perforated leather and equipped with paddles for switching gears. As a final touch, Volvo has installed sports pedals along with similar other minor tweaks meant to spice up the cabin of the Swedish SUV.
There aren’t any mechanical changes so the Volvo XC90 R-Design will get the same engines as the regular version. In other words, it will be sold with a variety of four cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines along with a T8 plug-in hybrid version which will sit on top of the range. This one has a supercharged and turbocharged 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine working together with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 400 bhp (298 kW).
Available on order starting next month, the Volvo XC90 R-Design will start reaching customers next May.
