2016 Mazda CX-3 launched in L.A.
After last month’s teaser, the 2016 Mazda CX-3 has been officially revealed this week during the Los Angeles Auto Show. The compact crossover is scheduled to go on sale in 2015 and it will be one of the most attractive models in its segment thanks to Mazda’s KODO design language which has brought a stylish exterior design including blackened C pillars looking as if they were the third side window.
On the inside we notice the fit & finish has mostly been carried over from the Mazda2, such as the circular air vents, glossy black accents and the metallic trim. The more expensive versions of the 2016 Mazda CX-3 come equipped with a Mazda Connect infotainment system and a head-up display.
As far as the engines are concerned, the US-spec model will be available only with a four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine which will work with a SKYACTIV-Drive automatic gearbox. The European variant will be offered with two four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engines as well as a more frugal 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel. These motors are coupled to either a six-speed manual SKYACTIV-MT transmission or the ‘auto box.
Both US- and Euro-spec models come are going to come as standard with a front-wheel drive layout but clients willing to pay more can upgrade to an all-wheel drive system.
