Detroit Electric SP:01 production version unveiled
The Detroit Electric SP:01 has been revealed in production form and will go on sale next year. It looks virtually the same as the previous variant and is set to enter production later this year, with the car featuring carbon fiber body panels while the same material has also been used for the diffuser, rear spoiler and battery cover. The car will be available with several exterior paint schemes like Performance Green, Special White, Performance Silver, Special Red, Performance Orange, Performance Blue and Performance Black while at an additional cost the client can custom order a bespoke paint.
On the inside it has sport seats wrapped around in Alcantara or leather while the infotainment system consists of an 8.4-inch tablet running on Android. Standard equipment includes power locks, power windows, embroidered floor mats and ambient lighting.
In terms of power, the Detroit Electric SP:01 has an electric motor generating 285 HP (210 kW) which can work with a single-speed automatic transmission, a twin-speed automatic or a manual gearbox. The company says it will do 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
