The Honda HR-V will carry a starting price of £17,995 in UK when it will go on sale late next month. Even the base model is nicely equipped with goodies such as cruise control, automatic headlights and climate control while the mid-range version which begins at £19,745 has front & rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, touch panels for the dual zone climate control along with an upgraded 6-speaker sound system. Go for the range-topping version available from £23,195 and you get 17-inch wheels, rearview camera, full leather upholstery, smart entry & start and a panoramic sunroof with tilt and slide function.
Both the mid- and high-end versions have the Honda Connect infotainment system which runs on Android and packs a 7-inch touchscreen display. At an extra cost, the mid-range model can gain Garmin navigation which comes standard on the range-topping model.
Underneath the hood of the Honda HR-V you will find a 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine with 130 PS or a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel developing 120 PS. These two are teamed up with a 6-speed manual gearbox while a newly developed CVT is optionally available on the gasoline engine.
The subcompact crossover has received a five-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP and will be sold as standard with city-brake active system while upper-spec models get a plethora of safety & assistance systems like high-beam support, lane departure warning, intelligent speed limiter, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning and the advanced driver assist system which has radar sensors as well as front & rear cameras.
