Next generation Audi A5 Coupe rendered

Independent artist Tobias Hornof has digitally imagined the next generation Audi A5 Coupe. He started off with the all-new Audi A4 B9 Sedan and then he chopped off the rear doors and lowered the roofline towards the back where it’s now more sloped to enable a more appealing profile for the compact premium coupe which will likely be out next year. At this point, we don’t have details regarding the front end which could be carried over from the sedan or Audi could decide to make some changes to further differentiate the two.

We expect the next generation Audi A5 Coupe to lose as much as 100 kg just like its four-door sibling while the cabin is set to become roomier. The regular A5 is going to be the first to hit the market but it will eventually be followed by a warm S5 version as well as by a range-topping RS5. Needless to say, Audi is also cooking up Cabriolet and Sportback versions of the new A5 which will likely be out towards the end of next year or early 2017.

All of these new versions will come with roughly the same array of engines and gearboxes as the ones offered in the recently introduced A4 Sedan.
