The Mazda6 is now officially on sale in the United States where you can have it if you are willing to pay at least $20,880, not taking into account the $795 destination fee. This makes the new model $155 more expensive than 2013MY. The mid-size sleek sedan is offered at first exclusively with a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter gasoline engine pumping out 184 hp at 5,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 185 lb-ft reached at 3,250 rpm.
For the second half of 2013 Mazda will introduce a turbocharged diesel engine but its specifications have not been revealed at the moment.
Getting back to the gasoline engine, this unit can be connected to a 6-speed manual transmission enabling the Mazda6 to return an EPA-rated 25 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg in the combined cycle. There’s also a 6-speed auto which returns 26 mpg city / 38 mpg highway / 30 mpg combined.

Customers have the possibility of ordering the 2014 Mazda6 in one of the three trim levels available. As standard, it’s offered with power windows, air conditioning, manual transmission, 17-inch alloys, AUX/USB ports, push button start and a tilt/telescopic adjustable steering column. The mid-range variant begins from $24,495 and comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, 6-way power driver’s seat and leatherette-trimmed sport seats.
The flagship variant costs $29,495 and packs bi-xenon HID headlights with auto leveling, TomTom navigation system, auto-dimming rear view mirror, automatic on/off headlights, power moonroof and a rear lip spoiler.
