Audi SQ5 receives a V6 TFSI engine

Audi has announced that in select markets the potent SQ5 will be offered with a V6 3.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine. We are dealing with a supercharged unit which is rated at 354 HP (260 kW) available between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 470 Nm (346 lb-ft) reached between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm. With this powerful petrol engine, the 2013 Audi SQ5 can complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in just 5.3 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Those ponies are sent to the traditional quattro permanent AWD system through an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox.

Audi says the gasoline-powered SQ5 TFSI has a fuel consumption of 8.5 liters / 100 km in the NEDC or 21 mpg US while CO2 emissions stand at 199 g/km. Compared to the standard Q5, the more powerful variant has a 1.2 inches (30mm) lowered chassis and rides on 20-inch alloys as standard or optional 21-inch rims.

In terms of design, it looks just about the same as the diesel SQ5, featuring different bumpers, a roof spoiler, a platinum gray radiator grille, aluminum pedals and shift paddles, plus power-adjustable sport seats wrapped around in Alcantara and Pearl Nappa leather.

Audi will disclose the price tag of the 2013 SQ5 TFSI in the near future.
