2013 Skoda Octavia Combi announced

These are the first two official photos with the upcoming 2013 Skoda Octavia Combi scheduled to make an appearance at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. This announcement comes after the end of 2012 when Skoda introduced the all-new third generation of the Octavia sedan. Compared to the previous estate version, the new Octavia Combi has an 11cm longer wheelbase and it’s also 90mm longer overall and 45mm wider than the model it replaces in Skoda’s lineup.

As a result to the increased size, the station wagon provides an additional 73mm of rear legroom and with the rear seats up it can hold 610 liters of cargo.

If you need more room, you can fold down the rear seats and increase cargo volume to an impressive 1740 liters, which represents one of the highest figures in this segment. To transport longer object, the passenger seat can also be folded.

The engine offerings are expected to be borrowed from the sedan version so expect four turbocharged gasoline engines and four turbocharged diesels. The petrol engines have an output varying from 86 HP to 180 HP, while the diesel ranges from 90 HP to 150 HP.

Skoda has announced its plans of bringing the 4×4 variant of the Octavia Combi in Geneva next month, a car which will feature the fifth-gen Haldex coupling that we first saw on the 4Motion version of the seventh-gen Volkswagen Golf.
