Lamborghini Urus due in 2017
Audi’s boss Rupert Stadler has officially confirmed that a production version of the long-awaited and highly-anticipated Lamborghini Urus will be out sometime in 2017. This statement was made during Lamborghini’s anniversary tour and the SUV can be considered as the spiritual successor of the LM002. The production model could be offered with a V8 engine paired to a couple of electric motors which will provide a combined output of 680 HP (500 kW). The Urus might also be sold with a second type of powertrain, according to Lamborghini’s chairman Stephan Winkelmann.
To refresh your memory, the Lamborghini Urus Concept was shown in 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show and had a 600 HP (440 kW) engine mated to a dual-clutch transmission and a permanent AWD system. Featuring 24-inch rims, the Urus came with an adjustable suspension, tailgate-mounted spoiler, rear diffuser and an exhaust system packing four tailpipes.
