German automaker Opel has launched the Country Tourer version of the Insignia. Based on the Sports Tourer version, this is described as a more rugged variant which has body cladding and a 20mm higher ground clearance.
The back of the car shows a dual exhaust setup, while the front-wheel drive layout of the standard model has been replaced with a 4×4 Haldex electronically-controlled system working together with an electronic limited-slip differential which can send 0-100% of torque to either the front or rear axle, depending on the road.
Power comes from a 2.0 SIDI turbo mill rated at 250 HP and 400 Nm of torque, together with a 2.0 CDTI outputting 163 HP and 350 Nm. If you want a more powerful diesel, Opel is offering a 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI with 195 HP and 400 Nm. Depending on engine choice, a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic are available.
