Earlier this week in London at the Royal Automobile Club, VUHL unleashed the 05 sports car which is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 285 bhp (212 kW) and a peak torque of 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). The engine works together with a 6-speed manual gearbox which enables the VUHL 05 perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in just 3.7 seconds before hitting a claimed top speed of 152 mph (244 km/h). This is possible thanks not only to the Ford engine but also due to the lightweight construction which has allowed the vehicle to tip the scales at just 1,598 lbs (725 kg).
Slated to enter production phase in November, the VUHL 05 will have a starting price of 55,000 pounds (about 64,555 euros or $83,945). Initially, cars will be sold exclusively in the United States and UK, with deliveries kicking off in spring 2014.
