Saleen 351 Mustang production commences
The Saleen 351 Mustang has entered production phase and it’s being described by the manufacturer as the perfect mix of design, technology and power. Compared to the standard Mustangs, Saleen’s version has been fitted with different side skirts, updated front and rear bumpers, as well as a “Red Butterfly” ram air hood. Other goodies worth mentioning include 20-inch rims, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and high-performance tires. On the inside it has illuminated door sill plates, individually-numbered dash plaque and bespoke floor mats.
Motivation of the Saleen 351 Mustang comes from a 5.7-liter supercharged V8 mill that has high-performance valve springs, forged aluminum pistons and new fuel injectors. As a result, the engine is capable of outputting 700 bhp (521 kW) and a peak torque of 887 Nm (655 lb-ft). It works in tandem with a 6-speed manual gearbox, a high-performance clutch and a lightweight flywheel. Other tweaks include uprated springs, shocks, sway bars and struts.
Saleen is offering the 351 Mustang as either a coupe or as a convertible from a starting price of $82,634.
