It was only yesterday when we brought you photos of the 2014 Seat Leon ST and now the Spanish marque has made it official. This is Leon’s first time ever to receive an ST variant which has granted the model with a spacious cargo capacity of 587 liters or 1,470 liters once you fold down the rear seats in case you need more room for your luggage or other items that you have to carry.
This additional cargo capacity is possible thanks to the 270mm longer rear overhang, while the wheelbase has remained the same as in the five-door hatchback model.
The added length has increased the car’s curb weight by 99 lbs (45 kg) but according to Seat the Leon ST is the lightest model in its segment. Powering the car is a 1.2-liter TSI available with 86 HP (63 kW) or with 105 HP (77 kW). Clients can also opt for a 1.4-liter TSI rated at 122 HP (90 kW) or 140 HP (103 kW). The FR version can be had with a 1.8 TSI delivering 180 HP (132 kW) or with a 2.0 TDI offering 184 HP (135 kW). Other lesser diesels include a 1.6 TDI with 90 HP (66 kW) or a 2.0 TDI with 150 HP (110 kW).
