Porsche 911 Blu Edition leaked, could be fake

We could be dealing with false information as the attached photo doesn’t look professionally made, judging by the shadow below the car and also by the red roof. However, some automotive media outlets are reporting that Porsche is about to launch a cheaper, more eco-friendly 911 which will be sold under the Blu Edition nameplate. Apparently, the car will be showcased for the first time in September during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It wears a Riviera Blue exterior paint scheme adorned with contrasting Guards Red accents. It should have a removable hard top which tips the scales at 49 lbs (22 kg).

Powering this Porsche 911 Blu Edition will be a detuned 3.4-liter mill outputting approximately 300 HP (223 kW) and a peak torque of 211 lb-ft (287 Nm). The engine might be mated to a PDK gearbox sending the special 911 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 165 mph (266 km/h).

Thanks to cylinder deactivation technology, active shutter grille, regeneration and stop/start systems, this frugal 911 should return 36.7 mpg US (44.1 mpg UK or 6.4 liters / 100 km), with CO2 emissions standing at 152 g/km.

Reports are indicating it will cost about 74,600 euros and will be available only to Porsche Club members.
