Audi has updated its Sport Quattro Concept and they plan on showing it at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The car has received a hybrid powertrain encompassing a V8 TFSI twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine rated at 560 HP and 700 Nm of torque. There’s also an electric motor producing an additional 150 HP and 400 Nm, granting the vehicle with a combined output of 700 HP and 800 Nm. Thanks to this setup, the Sport Quattro will need just 3.7 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h), on its way to a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). It should be able to travel on electric power for 31 miles (50 km).
Audi says the car has an impressive average fuel consumption of only 2.5 liters / 100 km (113 mpg UK or 94 mpg US) which corresponds to 59 g/km of CO2 emissions. To get to these figures, Audi’s engineers fitted the TFSI engine with cylinder-on-demand and stop/start systems. Despite being fast and economical, the revised concept is quite heavy as it tips the scales at a considerable 4,078 lbs (1,850 kg).
It sits on 21-inch rims wrapped around in 285/30 R21 rubbers with stopping power coming from carbon fiber ceramic brake discs, while the engine hood, roof and rear hatch are made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
