Ingolstadt-based automaker Audi has announced the recently unveiled 2014 A3 Cabriolet has entered production phase, with sales effectively commencing next spring. Those interested in this car can already place a pre-order for the MQB platform-riding convertible which looks a lot like the A3 Sedan, with the expected roof difference which in the cabriolet is a soft top that can be opened and closed at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h) in less than 18 seconds. Pricing in Germany for the 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet kicks off at 31,700 euros.
Upon launch it will be sold with just three power units, a TFSI 1.4-liter developing 140 HP, a 1.8-liter TFSI churning 180 HP and a 2.0-liter TDI outputting 150 HP. Later on, Audi will also introduce a 110 HP 1.6-liter TDI and a 300 HP 2.0-liter TFSI.
