ABT Sportsline tunes the Volkswagen Golf VII GTI
The Volkswagen Golf VII GTI has been introduced this week at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and it’s already starting to attract the attention of many tuners from all over the world. One of the first aftermarket specialists to develop a custom program for the 2013 Golf GTI is ABT Sportsline who has prepared a power boost for the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. In its standard configuration, the engine churns 230 HP (162 kW) in the Golf Performance model but after ABT works its magic it can develop 270 HP (199 kW). What’s even more impressive is the fact that a stage II kit is in the works which will lift output to no less than 310 HP (228 kW).
Aside from the healthy power increase, ABT has also prepared a new body kit for the Golf GTI. The car seen here has a white paint with several red accents to spice up the aesthetics of the model. They are offering headlight covers, a front grille, front spoiler, reshaped mirror caps, modified side skirts, along with a trunk lid attachment and a rear skirt insert. Other than that, ABT will install a quad-pipe exhaust system, 18- or 19-inch wheels and suspension lowering springs.
