All-new Citroen C4 Picasso breaks cover
Citroen has released this week the new generation of the C4 Picasso which borrows a lot of styling cues from the firm’s Technospace concept. The compact MPV rides on the PSA’s EMP2 platform which has allowed the car to lose 308 lbs (140 kg). 50 percent of the reduced weight is in the aluminum hood and the composite tailgate. In addition, there are a few allow body components and a composite rear floor which are part of the diet and have helped the model achieve the same weight as the smaller C3 Picasso. The car measures 4.43m x 1.83m x 1.61m (length x width x height) and although it’s 40mm shorter, it has a 55mm longer wheelbase.
Moving inside the cabin we notice that there’s a 7-inch touchscreen from where the people sitting in the front can have control of the car, like adjusting dual-zone air conditioning, audio, connected services, phone and driving aids. Above that we notice a larger 12-inch display acting as the instrument panel for the driver. The cabin adopts three individual seats that can be fully configured independently.
Powering the new Citroen C4 Picasso is an e-HDi 90 Airdream diesel engine with a six-speed clutch-less gearbox which allows the car to have the lowest CO2 emissions in this segment, standing at just 98 g/km. There are other engines to choose form, like a 1.6-liter e-HDi 115, a 1.6-liter Blue HDi 150, a VTi 120 and a THP 155.
