Aston Martin Lagonda still considered
British marque Aston Martin still hasn’t given up on its plans to revive the Lagonda moniker as they believe this name has what it takes to introduce a new range of models different than what Aston Martin is offering right now. This is the idea expressed by the firm’s boss Ulrich Bez who inclined the first model sold under the Lagonda nameplate will probably be an SUV since these cars are increasingly popular. This is quite true, especially taking into account that automakers like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maserati and even Lamborghini are working on such a model.
It was in 2009 when Aston Martin resurrected the Lagonda name during the Geneva Motor Show with an SUV riding on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz GL which came with a large V12 6.0-liter engine. If green-lighted for production, the SUV will likely be followed by other Lagonda models such as a mid-size sedan and possibly a flagship limousine to sit on top of the newly established range.
