Aston Martin reveals DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo
Aston Martin has unveiled last weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo which will be available later this month in the PlayStation 3-exclusive Gran Turismo 6 video game. The virtual car was developed in six months and some of the design ideas could be implemented on the company’s road-going cars in the near future. We notice a few influences from the CC100 and One-77 but overall the design represents a significant departure from current Aston Marin models.
The company imagined the DP-100 as a supercar with a mid-engine layout and powered by a V12 twin-turbo engine generating 800 bhp (597 kW). It rides on massive 20-inch alloys shod in Michelin tires and has been envisaged with a “fully functioning suspension system” as well as “state-of-the-art electronics”. It also boasts “active aerodynamics” which Aston Martin says will provide benefits while playing GT6.
