Audi unveils 2015 TT & TT S Roadster
Audi has taken the wraps of the TT & TT S Roadster which will both get their public debut next week at the Paris Motor Show. The vehicles look virtually the same as their coupe siblings with the obvious exception of the power folding fabric roof that can be had in titanium gray, jive or black. It needs ten seconds to open or close and can be operated at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h). Compared to its predecessor, the roof is around 3 kg (6.6 lbs) lighter as a result of using aluminum and magnesium in its construction.
The Audi TT Roadster and TT S Roadster both ride on the MQB platform and adopt many ultra high-strength and aluminum components allowing the TT 2.0 TFSI Roadster weigh 1,320 kg (2,910 lbs). This motor is capable of developing 230 HP (169 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque but the client can also opt for a 2.0-liter TDI with 184 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft).
There’s also a TT S Roadster version powered by a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter TFSI engine rated at 310 HP (228 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft). It allows the model to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 4.9 seconds en route to an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
