Audi has prepared the Allroad Shooting Brake concept for today’s unveiling at the inaugural day of the 2014 North American International Auto Show organized in Detroit. The concept measures 4.2 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and is 1.41 meters tall, with a 2510mm wheelbase and a 1,600 kg (3,527 lbs) weight. It sits on 19-inch rims shod in 255/40 tires and its design is an indication of what to expect from the upcoming third generation of the Audi TT. Its construction consists of using aluminum with CFRP – Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic.
Motivation comes from a TFSI 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 292 HP and 380 Nm working with a 54 HP electric motor and 270 Nm which has been incorporated in the 6-speed e-S tronic gearbox. Audi installed another electric motor on the rear axle which has an output of 155 HP and 270 Nm. The Allroad Shooting Brake concept has a combined output of 408 HP and 650 Nm.
It will need 4.6 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) prior to hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Fuel consumption is rated at just 1.9 liters / 100 km with 45 g/km of CO2 emissions. The concept comes with a 8.8 kWh battery pack and has an electric range of 31 miles (50 km) while as a plug-in hybrid it has a total range of 509 miles (820 km).
