This is the second tuning program for the BMW 1M Coupe released by G-Power but this new one is entirely different. While the first one was based on the car’s original 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, this new tuning features a V8 4.0-liter engine under the hood, the same engine found in the M3 E92 Coupe. They also borrowed the double clutch DCT transmission and the stainless steel exhaust system.
In addition, this highly modified M1 Coupe also has the front and rear axles of its bigger M3 brother. While the standard output of the V8 engine is of 414 hp, the one inside the 1M Coupe pumps out 591 hp thanks to the bolted customized ASA supercharger system.
Thanks to this extensive list of modifications, including an aluminum cast air box, the engine has a peak torque of 428 lb-ft and can complete the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.4 seconds, before hitting an impressive top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h), which according to G-Power makes this the quickest 1-Series ever made. As a reminder, the previous 1M Coupe by G-Power did the sprint in 4.5 seconds and reached a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
The customization program doesn’t end here as the BMW 1M Coupe by G-Power rides on a fresh new set of 20-inch alloys wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubbers measuring 255/30 ZR20 at the front and 295/25 ZR20 at the back. The stopping power of this pocket rocket is provided by the ceramic-carbon discs measuring 396mm, while the suspension kit has been provided by KW.
Design-wise, except for the aforementioned new wheels, we notice the carbon fiber bonnet with vent openings and a power dome, as well as a carbon fiber boot that has a CSL-inspired spoiler lip. The cabin was reupholstered by G-Power in Alcantara and two-tone surfaces, including the steering wheel and the new sport seats.
The car seen in these official photos will set you back a whopping $182,900. By the way, it’s called the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS.
