BMW Australia introduces 340i 40 Year Edition
BMW’s Australian division has taken the wraps off the limited-run 340i 40 Year Edition. It’s a limited-run model that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the company’s iconic 3-Series model and it will be available in just 40 examples. Half of the cars will be painted in Mineral White metallic while the other half will wear a Tanzanite Blue metallic hue, with both featuring Orbit Grey 19-inch M double spoke alloys, an electric sunroof, satin aluminum exterior trim and the M Sport package fitted as standard. The blue cars are getting an Opal White upholstery whereas the white ones come with a Merino Black upholstery. Other special goodies include a leather instrument panel cover, piano black trim and a bespoke 40/3 logo.
Priced from $97,000, the BMW 340i 40 Year Edition is motivated by an inline-six, 3.0-liter turbo engine with 326 PS and 450 Nm sent to the rear wheels exclusively through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hardware setup grants the compact sedan from Bavaria with a 0-100 km/h run in 5.1 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed which has been electronically limited.
It will reach BMW’s Australian dealers in the coming days and it’s $8,000 more expensive than a regular 340i.
