There is a hot new report indicating BMW plans to put the i8 Spyder into production sometime in 2015. The vehicle was allegedly approved for production last week after the bosses at BMW revealed a production-intent version featuring a Solar Orange exterior paint scheme which had blue accents. Details about the car are scarce at the moment but most likely it will borrow many of the styling cues seen on the concept which was presented back in 202 at the Beijing Motor Show in China.
Its heart and soul will probably be a 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine rated at 231 HP and 320 Nm which is going to work in tandem with an electric motor outputting an extra 131 HP for a combined output of 362 HP and 570 Nm of torque.
