BMW introduces DTM-spec M4
BMW is proud to introduce the DTM-spec version of the M4 Coupe which will receive its first public outing towards the end of March for the official ITR tests which will be organized in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. Another series of tests will occur in Hockenheim, Germany in mid-April while the first race of the 2014 DTM season is programmed for May 4th in Hockenheim. The M4 DTM seen here weighs only 1,110 kg and has the following physical dimensions: 4775mm length, 1950mm width and 1200mm height, with 18-inch forged alloys covered in racing tires provided by Hankook.
It’s heart and soul is a V8 naturally-aspirated engine outputting somewhere in the region of 480 bhp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Output is transferred to the wheels with help from a sequential six-speed transmission controllable through the steering wheel-mounted pneumatic shift paddles. The BMW M4 DTM rides on a double wishbone suspension with adjustable shock absorbers and pushrods and has been configured with a hydraulic braking system.
