BMW M2 tuning program previewed by Alpha-N Performance
The tuners at Alpha-N Performance are providing a sneak preview of their upgrade program tailored to the BMW M2 Coupe. The high-performance coupe was unveiled just about a week ago, but already some are thinking of ways to boost the model’s appeal by squeezing more power from the 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter turbocharged engine which in the standard M2 produces 370 PS and now the engineers at Alpha-N have decided to install a water injection system and a chip-tuning box to bump output to no less than 480 PS.
Aside from extracting more power from the turbo-six, the tuners can also fit the BMW M2 Coupe with a more aerodynamic body kit manufactured from carbon fiber which also includes a rear wing that can be adjusted in one of the four available positions. A carbon fiber roof will also be offered and there’s going to be a Clubsport version featuring OZ Superforgiata 19-inch wheels, lightweight race seats and half or full roll cage.
There’s no word about performances just yet, but it will obviously be quicker than a standard BMW M2 Coupe which runs the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.5 seconds when equipped with the 6-speed manual and in 4.3 seconds with the 7-speed M DCT.
