Is BMW preparing a 720i model?
We strongly believe the Bavarian marque plans on introducing a new base model for the flagship 7-Series as last weekend BMW’s German website showed a 720i version. Interestingly, the listing of such a model was taken down quite fast but chances are it will be up again very soon. Currently, the 730d is the most affordable 7-Series in Germany where it has a starting price of 74,200 euros so we assume a 720i model would cost somewhere in the region of 70,000 euros.
If this model turns out to be true, changes are underneath the hood will be a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline engine taken from the 320i and 320i xDrive but probably uprated to provide more oomph since the 7-Series is a large and heavy car. As a reminder, in the 320i it delivers 184 HP while in the more frugal EfficientDynamics Edition it outputs 170 HP.
