The Buick Avenir concept is being displayed these days in Detroit during the 2015 NAIAS. It has been envisioned as the company’s flagship model with a stylish curved body matched with a waterfall front grille and LED headlights. It also benefits from ventilated front fenders, muscular rear fenders, a “boattail” rear end and 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside the high-end cabin there are silk and bamboo wood trims, ambient lighting, a wireless smartphone charger as well as a 12-inch touchscreen display part of the IntelliLink infotainment system.
There’s also an ionic air filtration system and a driver recognition system. Other goodies on the menu include individual rear seats, a dual screen rear entertainment system while the rear seats have been divided by a full-length center console.
The Buick Avenir concept is motivated by a “next generation” V6 direct-injection engine but it’s output is not known at this moment. We do know the motor benefits from cylinder deactivation technology and also comes with a start/stop system while power is sent to both axles through a dual-clutch nine-speed automatic gearbox.
