It was in November last year when Chevrolet presented the 2014 U.S.-spec Spark EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, with plans on putting the car on sale this summer at first in dealerships in California. Now, Chevrolet has announced the introduction of the European version next month at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The car will come with the same 130 hp (100 kW) electric motor that has an instant torque of 400 lb-ft (542 Nm). Thanks to this hardware setup, the 2013 Euro-Spec Chevrolet Spark EV is able to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 8 seconds.
Since this is an electric car, most people are probably interested in finding out more about charging times. When using fast-charging, the Spark EV’s lithium-ion battery can be charged to an 80 percent level in just 20 minutes. With a capacity of 20 kWh, the battery needs between 6 and 8 hours for a full charge when using a regular 230V outlet.
Moving inside the cabin, the Spark EV boasts two 7-inch full-color LCDs, MyLink system and a rear view camera. SIRI is compatible with the infotainment system for those that have an iPhone 4S or 5 running on iOS6.
