Citroen publishes first photo and preliminary details of DS 6WR

French automaker Citroen has released today the very first revealing photo of the DS 6WR, the company’s first SUV part of the DS lineup. The vehicle will be officially introduced on Sunday at the Beijing Motor Show in China and is described as being a “wild & refined premium SUV”. It is worth mentioning this is actually a production version of the Wild Rubis concept showcased last year at Auto Shanghai and seems to carry the front fascia of the DS 5LS. The SUV has a 2.73-meter wheelbase and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels while its physical dimensions stand at: 4.55m length, 1.86m width and 1.61m height.

As far as motorization is concerned, Citroen will sell the DS 6WR with e-THP 160 and THP 200 turbocharged gasoline engines coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The DS 6WR will also come with a Grip Control system that will offer extra traction without the necessity of a proper four-wheel drive arrangement.

Production will take place in China where the model will go on sale towards the end of 2014, but next year it could reach other countries.
